The Cisco Nexus series 3100-V switch platform introduces the latest versions with additional features and advanced software installations, where N3K-C31108PC-V is one of them. The switches from this platform provide low power consumption, high density, and the features of Layer 2 and 3 support various applications including High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing Environment (CCE), and service providing hosting as well. These advanced switches are fast and even more flexible than the previous versions of switches. The typical operating power needed is approximately 150 Watt which can go to the maximum of 360 Watt. On the other side, the average and maximum heat dissipation are 512 BTU per hour and 1228 BTU per hour respectively. The types of power supply it uses include AC and DC providing forward and reverse airflows. AC 31108 model NXA-PAC-650W-PE and NX-PAC-650W-PI, and DC 31108 model NXA-PDC-930W-PE and NX-PDC-930W-PI are involved.

Furthermore, redundant fans and hot-swappable feature is also available which swaps within a time period of one minute in order to provide a cool environment throughout.
